Dr. James P. McCoy

Dr. McCoy graduated from the University of Florida in 1969. He received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Tuskegee Institute in 1973. He worked in a mixed animal practice in Virginia for two years, and also at Gulfstream, Hialeah and Calder race tracks in South Florida for two years. Veterinarian Dr. McCoy North Miami

He joined Dr. Bruce Majilton and the staff of Bayshore Veterinary Clinic in 1977 when the clinic was located on 79th Street in Miami, Florida. In 1998, the new clinic was designed and construction was started in 1999. The new and larger Bayshore Veterinary Clinic was opened in 2000.

Dr. McCoy has been married to Bette for 39 years. They have three children: Jason, Kristen, Laura and 2 grandchildren Brady and Madison. They also have three "furry children": Mollie, a mixed Bouvier des Flanders, Bailey and Lucy both cocker spaniels. They love to baby-sit for their two "granddogs" and two "grandcats".

DR. Melissa M. Crespo, DVM

Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Dr. Crespo completed her Bachelor's Degree in Veterinary Technology from the University of Puerto Rico - Medical Sciences Campus in 2000. She then joined Tuskegee University, School of Veterinary Medicine, where she received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2004. Veterinarian Dr. Crespo North Miami

After graduation she worked in South Miami before joining Dr. McCoy and his staff at Bayshore Veterinary Clinic in 2006. She enjoys internal medicine cases and has a special interest in canine physical therapy and rehabilitation.

Her personal interests include traveling, salt-water aquariums, going to movies, fishing, and spending time with her family and friends. She and her husband have 2 dogs, Luna Estrella and Jack Sparrow.
